Looking for a way to add some color? Try simple succulents!
Succulents are relatively easy to care for, making them a favorite among home owners and business offices. More and more, succulents can be seen in unique containers such as boots, sea shells, pieces of drift wood, and local handmade pottery.
Check out this variety! Whether it’s in a frame or a more eclectic material (such as a shutter) succulents grow well vertically. One of the best things about gardening with succulents vertically is that so many interesting patterns can be made.
Beautiful! This designer did such a wonderful job with color! Although this arrangement is monochromatic, the mint green really pops against the brighter greens.
These fish bowl type hangers would work very well with modern decor. So much can be done! Colorful rocks, or colored sand could really help these stand out. Be careful not to over-water in a container such as this. Succulents do well with drainage, so if you choose a material such as glass, be sure to line the bottom with rocks and/or sand.
Remember chia pets? This is a bit of a different approach, but the sentiment is similar. What a lovely garden ornament.
This arrangement is absolutely stunning. A mini version of an arrangement like this would make a beautiful centerpiece for an outdoor summer wedding.
Baskets fit into a variety of themes from french country to southern charm. The varying heights of these woven baskets create a focal point without over crowding the space.
This is just amazing. Metal or painted wood? Either way, it sure is creative.
This simple pottery beautifully displays the variety of plants contained. Purple and green contrast well and are excellent color choices!
It makes perfect sense to place succulents in rock crevices. New plans for the backyard, anyone?
Truly, this is one of the classiest designs yet.

Watering tips: Wait to water until the soil is dry. If arrangement/design allows, soak the base in water instead of watering from above. During the warmer months, succulents can be watered about once a week.
Plant in sandy soil. Choose a soil that doesn’t hold too much moisture. Ensure that your container has proper drainage. A waterlogged succulent is a dead succulent.
Give them sunlight, but protect them from hot, damaging sun. Too much direct heat will cause your succulent to wither.
